The Big Bend Milk Snake, also known as the New Mexico Milk Snake ranges through extreme west Texas, including the Big Bend Region into eastern and central New Mexico. There are also several questionable isolated populations in southern Colorado and in eastern Arizona. It should also be expected to be found in parts of northern Mexico, but as to date there are no documented accounts of it occuring there. This harmless and attractive snake reaches an adult length of 18 to 36 inches and is seldom seen except on roadways at night during the early summer months. They feed on lizards, other small snakes and mice.
